                                    21Some signs indicate that a child is bulliedUnlike before, the child%u2026%u2022is afraid to walk to or from school, changes their usual route to school, or repeatedly asks for a ride to school or wants an escort%u2022is generally reluctant to go to school, misses school or classes without a clear reason, or, for example, claims illness%u2022comes home from school with their clothes or backpack messy and torn%u2022becomes withdrawn, quiet, and seems to have lost their self-confidence%u2022becomes stressed or anxious%u2022loses their belongings (cap, beanie, books, notebooks, pencil case, etc.)%u2022asks for or steals money, or repeatedly loses their pocket money or weekly allowance (may be a sign of blackmail)%u2022gets unexplained bruises, scratches, or cuts%u2022becomes irritable, easily angered, and %u201cdifficult%u201d%u2022is often alone without friends, no longer brings friends home%u2022refuses to tell what is bothering them, or repeatedly gives implausible explanations for the above-mentioned thingsHowever, these signs of bullying can also be explained by other reasons. Every parent or guardian knows best how their child expresses their discomfort and the fact that everything is not okay.
