6KiVa ANTIBULLYING PROGRAM%u00aeThe KiVa Antibullying Program is a research-based tool to reduce and prevent the prevalence of bullying at schools. The program was developed at the University of Turku, Finland. The program has been proven in numerous studies to decrease bullying rates at schools. KiVa is implemented worldwide and you can find more information at www.kivaprogram.net. Laws and regulations require schools to take action to prevent bullying, and the policies schools have to follow have been established to protect students. The schools have the responsibility to prevent and intervene in bullying. KiVa is a tool through which schools can comply with the anti-bullying requirements stated in laws and regulations.This guide offers information about bullying to families: what bullying is, how bullying can be discussed at home, what happens at a KiVa school, and what we know about bullying in light of current research.
